So I have about two full months between my move to Denver and beginning grad school. I’m really excited about it, and I can’t wait to see what these classes do for my library. In the meantime, do you have any suggestions for good reads over the break? Here’s what I have so far:
- Camus - The Plague, The First Man
- Kissinger - On China
- Cobb - Away Down South
Personally, I love treatises and short philosophical fiction like Camus or even the sort that Sartre was possible of writing but never seemed to be so inclined to do (Damn pontificator). I’m not opposed to classics or works of fiction, but I really do enjoy books with an element of rumination, musing or just plain ol’ existential angst.
Although, I have started really enjoying Southern writers. Warren, Faulkner and Morris among them, but I really am wondering if I should read Ellison’s Invisible Man again.
Any recommendations, followers?
